My Next Project "Too Decent To Die"
This is an Elmore Leonard style, private eye tracks down a crazy vigilante killer story.
I know I haven’t been the most consistent with what I write, but with a two plays, a children’s book and a non-fiction book under my belt, I’m now diving into pulp fiction. I’m writing under the pseudonym Victor Kane (thoughts on the name?), and I’m finally tackling a story I’ve been sitting on for about twenty years—yes, really.
The story follows a middle-aged man who feels he’s accomplished nothing of lasting value and craves a legacy. Believing it’s too late to achieve greatness through good, he decides to make his mark through infamous deeds— bold, evil, and quick.
After robbing a supermarket and shooting a young bystander, he leaves the police stumped. The angered supermarket owner, desperate for justice, hires a private eye to track him down. Meanwhile, the man embarks on an odyssey of chaos targeting a list of people he considers “evil,” escalating the chaos.
It’s shaping up well. It’ll take some time to finish, but sharing this with you makes it official and holds me accountable to myself. Stay tuned!
In the meantime, if you're looking for a good stocking stuffer under $6, you should take a look at my highly interesting, just released non-fiction "Scoundrel & Seafarers," about the history of privateering and piracy in New Jersey and how their plunder fed the growth of the New Jersey economy and financed the Colonial army's fight against the British.
I also take a look at unique topography that lent itself to this “Golden Age of Piracy” and its impact on the State. Anyone who is interested in New Jersey or Colonial history will enjoy this book. It would be an especially great "guy" gift. It’s getting some five star reviews on Amazon.com. You can find it here. https://shorturl.at/lLI0X It's available at half-price while I launch. Ebook: $2.99, Paperback: 5.95 and Hard cover: $14.95 Regular price soon, so order now.
My children's book, The Pogo Stick Kid, Gold in the Sky, for kids 6-11, is also getting five star reviews and has a great heroic story of a magical boy and his pogo stick that leads his two friends on a journey in the clouds to find the missing pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. An under $9 purchase. Here’s the link: Pogo Stick Kid
