New Events and Happenings
I have a few interesting things going on this week. Welcome Atlantic County Historical Society
I haven’t posted for a while. I’ve been busy trying to get my projects under control. I took a brief side trip into AI and found that world incredibly interesting. I created songs from my lyrics, and a couple YouTube channels. I created a new sports trivia channel on YouTube and a few other social sites. It’s pretty entertaining. It’s full of unusual and interesting facts across the spectrum of American sports, baseball, football, basketball, hockey, tennis, golf and the Olympics. Good stuff. Did you know Babe Ruth put a fresh cabbage leaf under his cap every inning to keep cool? Things like that. Check it out!
Rebecca Estelle Winston Bourgeois Book
Welcome to Atlantic County Historical Society. I have included many new emails from them in this issue so I could keep them updated on my new book on Rebecca Estelle Winston Bourgeois and the Estell Family. If you do not want to receive this newsletter just unsubscribe. I’ll promptly delete your address. My next newsletter coming shortly will be detailed notes on the books progress.
I did quite a bit of work on it. I was considering starting a Kickstarter campaign to raise some cash for all the work and expense, but begging doesn’t seem to work, so I decided not to. I’ll chalk it up to pro bono work and hope there is enough interest from all of you to sell a few copies.
I turned over what I have done so far to Diane Bassetti, who is a historian at the Estell Manor Historical Society, to check my work and supply more detailed info on Rebecca. Diane is a storehouse of knowledge and loves the history of the township. Thank you Diane. I think in a month or two it will be ready for the presses.
Too Decent to Die Update
In the meantime, I connected with a fabulous woman, a writer who does ghosting for James Patterson. She’s written a lot of his work and she was kind enough to read through “Too Decent to Die” and give me notes. First, she really liked what I did. She suggested that I beef up certain sections to give the story more heft and insight to the characters.
Another friend of mind, who was the editor for the Detroit Daily News and The Daily Journal also did a read for me and really enjoyed it. He also had a similar reaction. He thought it was great and would have liked more backstory on the characters.
So I went to work and fleshed out the story, giving all the characters more development and created a more interesting and engaging read. I hope you all give it a chance. I am going to have a “Read the E-book Free” promotion soon so you can take a look and give me your feedback and hopefully a good review and comment on Amazon. Those reviews and comments are very important. The more reviews I get the heavily Amazon will promote it. If they see it’s a winner they want to get on the gravy train. 😊 I’ll let you know shortly when that will happen.
Presenting at Author’s Night
I will be presenting Scoundrels and Seafarers at the Atlantic County Historical Society in Somers Point, May 19th and signing books. Stop by there will be a number of local authors showing off their works. My non-fiction history of how pirates and privateers shaped the Revolutionary War era has been getting all five star reviews on Amazon. You should pick up a copy.
The first week in June I will be giving a presentation of Scoundrels to grade school children at Estell Manor School. That should be fun. Haven’t gotten up in front kids for a while.
Here’s My new Sports Trivia Channel be sure to click on the shorts section. That’s where the trivia facts are.

That’s all for now! Keep healthy and wise.
