Spielberg Shooting in Milmay
Passed a large Hollywood crew on Tuckahoe Rd. in Milmay. last night, 3/13/25
Here’s what Google had to say:
On March 14, 2025, Steven Spielberg was spotted on the set of his latest film in Buena Vista Township, Atlantic County, New Jersey.
Location: Buena Vista Township, Atlantic County, New Jersey.
Date: March 14, 2025.

Other Actors: Emily Blunt and Wyatt Russell were also filming in Montville on February 25, 2025.
Previous Filming: Spielberg also filmed parts of his new sci-fi feature in Catskill and Haines Falls this spring.
Spielberg’s film has the production code name “Non-View” and reportedly has the working title “The Dish.”
My cousin, Diane, and I were driving down Tuckahoe Rd., Milmay on our way to the Estell Manor Historical Society meeting where I presented my nonfiction book Scoundrels & Seafarers to its members. There was a large Hollywood crew on either side of the road next to the railroad tracks. Some special effect was set up. There was a crashed car under a colorful locomotive painted white and red, plus another crashed vehicle on the side of the tracks. Crew was gathered around either getting things set up or broken down. Lots of flashing emergency lights and guards on either side of the road. Very interesting when big celebrities visit a small town to shoot. One of the members at the meeting actually saw Spielberg directing although we missed him. Emily Blunt and Wyatt Russell were not there.
I was invited to present my book to the Society. I met some very fine people who are very dedicated to Estell Manor. Most of them lived there and participated in the Society for quite a long time. The Historical Society building, which had been very run down, has been renovated by the group and holds a tremendous amount of organized information and displays. Estell Manor has always been a mystery to me. You can pass right through its a its 54 sq. miles and never knew you went through it.
It has major historical significance to the area. It’s history starts 8 generations ago with the Estell family and their continued presence and responsibility for its growth until the death of the last Estell, Rebecca Estell Bourgeois Winston in 1933. She has the historical NJ significance of being the first female mayor in NJ.
Here’s a promo that I created.
Uncovering the Hidden History of Estell Manor—A Story of Legacy, Land, and Remarkable Woman
If you’ve ever driven through South Jersey, you’ve likely passed through Estell Manor without a second thought. A vast stretch of Pinelands, quiet and unassuming. But beneath those towering pines lies a history waiting to be unearthed—a story of land, power, and an extraordinary woman named Rebecca Estelle.
The Estell family’s roots in America go back to 1633, from a modest 54-acre land grant to a staggering 7,000-acre legacy. But this story isn’t just about land—it’s about Rebecca Estell, a woman whose name has been nearly forgotten despite the impact she left behind. This project is about reclaiming her story and giving her the recognition she deserves.
I’m diving deep into the archives, uncovering lost narratives, and bringing this history to life.
One of the main difficulties of writing this book is very little is available on the internet about her. She has been overlooked, which requires the time consuming finding and and reading through printed historical documents to get information. It’s an analog project in a digital world, which requires a lot of work.
So this should be interesting. I’ll keep you updated.
During the meeting I explained what Scoundrels & Seafarers was about, much more than about pirates. More about how pirates and privateers, aside from being thugs and murderers, provided quite a bit of wealth for New Jersey’s growth, and helped George Washington’s army with supplies from their ill gotten gains during the War. We had an excellent discussion. I thank them for giving me the opportunity to present my book.
The book is selling well. I hope you pick up a copy, and if you do please leave a review if you like it. Amazon’s algorithm gives more importance and ranks the book higher for more visibility.
THANKS,
LOU
