Probably most of you have seen the movie Forrest Gump. One day Forrest starts running, and he just keeps running and running and running, across the nation--and back and then top to bottom. Then one day Forrest just stops. That’s it, he doesn’t want to run anymore. And he goes home.
Well, I haven’t put in the effort Forrest did. I’ve been writing since September posting several times a week here, which takes some effort. It started out I just wanted to put myself on the record, then I started enjoying it and kept writing. Now, it’s time for me to stop and go home.
I have over two-hundred free subscribers and tens of thousands of views, which isn’t bad considering this is a locally focused newsletter/website. I know a large percentage of you. I have been told by more than a few readers that you enjoy my writing. A few took umbrage about my views and canceled, but most of my free subscribers are still with me.
Everybody is asking for a paid subscription to their site, so competition is fierce, but still I was hoping for enough paid subscribers to make this worthwhile.. But after all this work, to no one’s surprise, I have few of you. So, time to move on to other endeavors.
I will occasionally put a posting, but they will be decidedly political. I have held my tongue so as not to offend too many.
If you’ve been reading my posts you know I don’t like what’s going on politicalfly both on the RIGHT and the LEFT. The country I grew up in is gone. Eaten up by greed, corruption, forever wars, political correctness, wokeness, stupidity and foreign influence spending big bucks to buy our Congress.
One man who I found equally cynical and cranky as me was one of my favorite comedies, George Carlin, rest in peace compadre. Here’s a reminder how right on the money he was.
Thanks to the good friends that took out paid subscriptions and thanks to everyone for reading. I have posted around eighty articles, so there are probably a some you missed that you still can read. Check the archives, too.
That’s one big positive. Being able to reach out and entertain, inform and maybe sometimes educate.
Thanks to Greg Zyla, too for his outstanding posts on Collector Cars. Very impressive store of information. I have his website listed here and on the home page, so you can always log in there and see what he’s up to.
I’m finishing up writing and publishing some childen’s books, so I’ll spend my time with that. Hopefully, I’ll make some kids smile.
Just click the HOME icon to get to the home page and you’ll find what you missed.
